10 August 2010
Dear players and families:
We are only days away from tryouts as we embark on the 20th year of NorCal Baseball. The program started in the fall of 1991 and has blossomed into the top program on the west coast and one of top programs in the country. Just this summer, we had 25 NorCal alums drafted by MLB and have five players named to the AFLAC All-American game. No amateur team in the country can match that.
We expect the fall program to be our best yet. We will have eight Sundays that are dedicated to development. We will also attend the AZ Fall Classic in October- the top tournament on the west coast (over 200 college coaches and pro scouts will attend). In addition, NorCal Baseball is partnering up with Perfect Game, the leader in amateur baseball, for some key events this fall and next summer. Finally, the top NorCal brass will be involved in a special program to be announced that will be launched next summer. The winners of all of this will be our players!
Please keep Saturday November 13th open on your calendar. This will be a very special time in our history. We will be celebrating the successes of the 2011 class-one of the most decorated groups in our history and we will have our NorCal Baseball dinner/auction. All of the great ones will be invited back to help share our 20 year mark. The night will be highlighted by the induction of our first Hall of Fame class. Trust us, the list will be special!
Saturday night will be our annual NorCal dinner/auction. We will have some special guest speakers, ex-players, as well as college coaches and pro scouts invited. The list of items to be auctioned with the help of our alumni and past families will be the best we’ve ever had.
It’s a great time in our history. Our NorCal family keeps getting stronger and the future, with the help of all of you, looks incredibly bright. There are some major announcements in the near future that will accelerate our program to an even higher level. The benefactors will be the NorCal players of the present and of the future. It’s important to note that we need to see all of you at the tryouts. We look forward to seeing all of you soon!
Yours in baseball,
Rob and Tony
